Material sleeve

Good morning everyone,
I would like to make an inquiry, I am repairing a oil pipeline built with X-52 material, I am offered to repair it with Type B sleeve with an ASTM A572 Gr 50

Although the A572 Gr 50 is a high strength steel, the mechanical properties are less than X52, I consider that I am demerging the pipeline, is there a standard that I can check?

What design code are you using?

If you're repairing anything you're likely de-rating something.

Derive the thickness of the sleeve plate using the applicable pressure design equations to achieve the necessary pressure rating.

The usual standard is API RP 2200/ASME PCC-2.
