Hi
We have several hammers and anvils which are broken/worn out on our electrostatic precipitator. These hammers are used for cleaning the discharge electrode in the penthouse.
Can you plz confirm the material that is usually used for such hammers? We do not have this info in the manual. We have contacted the supplier but have not received the info yet. We are in annual shutdown. We must repair and restart in a few days. Thks to advise
Plz see photo of such hammer

Clean off any mill scale and check to see if they are non-magnetic.
If they are then you most likely are looking for Hadfield Manganese (ASTM A128).
It's a casting spec but I get plate and bar from a place called Stulz-Sickles Steel out of NJ.
This type of steel is typical in ball mills and railroad switches, it work hardens and is super tough.
