I've been hearing the term "high alloy" a lot lately, but nobody seems to be naming any specific grades of steel. I'm a little confused by the term, not sure what kind of steel they are talking about. Is it chromoly and high nickel steels?? Can anyone list for me common grades of "high alloy" steel used in vessel and heat exchanger design, or refer me to a website?

Thanks in advance.

If you look in Sect 8, Div. 1, UHA then you'll know what high alloy is.

Yeah...right...a little on the glaringly obvious side. Note my embarasment. Feel free to relocate this post to the "stupid questions" forum.
