I'm currently heading up the battery selection for a new product and have been tasked with developing a mathematical model of of battery that will have testable parameters and power draw as inputs and state of charge as an output. Our goal is to test the manufacturer's claims and create a simulink block to act as an input to an endurance model that will allow us to measure battery life over a standard use case. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions as to which model would be best (ie kinetic, thevinen, etc)

Thanks
Dave

Not sure if it's quite that straightforward.

On top of everything else, battery discharge characteristics are highly dependent on discharge rate as well as temperature.

Moreover, it's not clear how varying the discharge rate affects the discharge characteristics, e.g., if you discharge at 0.1C and then switch to 0.5C, where do you wind up?
