I am making a retainer at work, and am having trouble with the mating constraints. I am making this with expresions, the main body is an extruded slot, with a rectangular slot half thru subtracted. I need to put in Library SHCS as components, and this particular retainer doesnt have them located concentric to the 2 full radius' each side of the body. So to locate the part, I use the top face for depth for the toolbody, the outer planar face between the full radia for the Y location, and naturally since I have no other reference I use the smaller face of the rectangular subtracted slot to locate it in X.
Now when I update my expressions, which control the main body shape, slot size, and location of SHCS components, it will update, UNTILL I link the toolbody from the SHCS component into the Retainer file. After that much of what happens baffles me. Ive had alot of experience in expressions and mating, and I expect certain things to happen obviously. Once I change these very basic expressions which changes a very basic part, the SHCS move to the opposite side of the rectangular slot face, then when I go into mating and change my dimension from negative to positive, the OPPOSITE screw from which I have chosen moves to the proper place, then when I put this same dimension back to negative, the correct one moves into place. I delete the Wave Linked toolbody, and poof everything works again. I looked at all assembly preferences, and even copied the UG_English.def from my managers computer, and still the problem persists.
