mating with datum planes 3

I am new to Unigraphics NX4. How do you display the datum planes to mate components together?

If the Datum Planes were in the original component's part file, you can do one of two things. Either add the Datum Planes to the 'Model' Reference Set so that they appear in the assembly (but then you'll probably have to hide them later to clean up the appearance of your Assembly), or you can change the Component's Reference Set to 'Entire Part', mate the Component using the now visible Datum Planes and then afterwords, set the Component's Reference Set BACK to 'Model' so that you will no longer have to see the Datum Planes. Don't worry, just because you can no longer see the Datums does not mean that they are not still being used to control of position of your Component.

I would use the entire part reference set for mating, then switch to the MODEL reference set for the display.
