Does anyone have the Max. Allowable Stress values for Alloy 2205 (UNS S31803). I'm trying to calculate the minimum wall thickness for a given pressure and vessel size as per ASME Sec VIII. The temperature range that I'm interested in is 250°F to 550°F. Thank you in advance for any help anyone can provide.

ASME Section II Part D contains all this information. You should have this Section of the Code if you design vessels to Code.

Stanweld,
Thank you for your prompt response. Actually, I'm not doing the "design work", but only calculating the minimum allowable thickness to determine the serviceability (and the maximum allowable pressure)of the vessel. Yes, I have used the tables in ASME Sec. II, but two years ago, I was transferred from our Maintenance Engineering Group (made defunct by down-sizing) to a Project Engineering group, and no one has kept the Code books current. I think UNS S31803 may now be listed in the Code book, but I don't think it was in our vintage book.

Design Stress @ Temp as follows for SA-240 S31803:
200F - 25.7 ksi
300F - 24.8 ksi
400F - 23.9 ksi
500F - 23.3 ksi
600F - 23.1 ksi

Thank you very much......it is just what I was looking for.

While it is S31803 that is in the code book, most 2205 now is dual certified S31803/S32205. This latter UNS number has chemistry modified for better weldability & corrosion. If it meets S32205, it also meets S31803. Eventually the code will get around to recognizing S32205.
