Dear all
between Pa=0.25*f'c (In foundation Book) and Pa=0.3f'c x Ag+0.4fy x As (ACI318) what should I use?
Thank you

I understand Table 13.4.2.1 is for nominal allowable service load capacities of the subject piles with small eccentricity and it is code ..while Pa=0.25*f'c is a proposal of a foundation eng. book.

The no. of piles is choosen with some tolerances and does not sensitive too much. Moreover, the bending moment may dictate the no. of piles or amount of rebar which will be used and in general geotechnical capacity of the pile controls rather than structural capacity.

If the eccentrity is small, i will suggest you to use ACI formulas.
