Dear All,

We are using SS 304L wires for making wire mesh cable trays .

In the TC its mentioned as yield strength is 71 kg/mm2 and UTS is 74.20 kg/mm2 and elongation is 41%. Code doesnt sayabout max % of UTS and YS.

So please tell anyone what is the max % of YS ?

IS there any bad effect of increasing YS ?

Code doesnt sayabout max % of UTS and YS.

What Code? UTS and YS are normally specified as minimum values and not
a max % or min %.

So please tell anyone what is the max % of YS ?

Max % of YS to what values UTS or other
????

Maximum tensile property values are not specified only minimum values to ensure minimum strength.

Why are you looking for the maximum strength for your design?
Are you trying to see how lucky you are?

As i mentioned earlier,in the TC its mentioned as yield strength is 71 kg/mm2 and UTS is 74.20 kg/mm2. I didnt seen close values for YS and UTS like this before. So having doubt about the test certificate .

Ratheesh n,

Ok, I think I understand, the Yield and Ultimate values look high and you are questioning the test results. The units you are using for stress kg/mm2 do not look correct. Shouldn't the kg be a force like newtons?
