Hi out their.

I have been running a Mazak Space Gear48, for 3 years now. I am seeking anyone else, with exprerence on these machines, to swap info, faults, tips etc.
Our machine hrs are up to 10,000, so some information on possible problems to look out for, would be great.

hello caren,
we have just installed a mazak spacegear 48. Our first laser actually. We are a large machine shop .
What are you programming offline with for 3D cutting?

Hi Buckley,
My name is not caren, its Dale. Bit of a slip up when I joined.
All my 3D programming is done on the machine, by mapping 2D programs onto the 3D surface using the teachbox supplied.
We looked at the Mazak software but the price was over the top.
I once looked at Surfcam, but the problem is getting a post processor written for the Mazak Fanuc controller.
Are you able to use your existing software that you use for your maching Centers e.t.c?
Please let me know if you have any joy.

Regards
Dale

Hi Dale,
havn't decided on any software yet. We bought the machine for one job so not in a hurry. Would like the Mazak smart system and FG cam but very expensive !! We need something like the FG cam as the owner of our company makes midget race cars and wants the chassis tube ends laser cut.
Have just heard of Metacam , from Metamation who make sheetmetal cam software so I am having a look at that.
We are having enough hassle just learning to laser cut sheetmetal! We are a machine shop and have never done any sheetmetal work , let alone laser cutting ! Trying to work out power setings , freq , duty % , is all new to us. How did you get on with yours ? Did you have experience with lasers before your Mazak spacegear ?
regards
Paul ( my name not buckley. Buckley systems company name )

Hi Paul,
We tried and strugled with the Mazak software. We installed SigmaNest for both our 2D work and Pipe cutting. Excellent software.Contact Glen Gray @ Digital Profile Services. Ph 06 355 5048, for more info.
I had a feeling you were with Buckley Systems. Whats happening with that Bike of his.
Feel free to give me a call for more details or a visit.
You can get my details from A.M.T, rather than broadcasting them around the internet. Our company is Sta-Tec Manufacturing.

See Ya.
Dale

Hi Dale,
didn't realise you were the other ( original ) kiwi mazak laser owner. Thanks for sigma details.
Will give you a call tommorrow. would be nice to talk to some one who knows what they are doing !
cheers
paul.

I need all cut conditions for a mazak laser with fanuc controls 2 years old I think...if you need wattage I will need to get that info.
We had a nice guy remove all records of our cut conditions and would like to download new ones to the machine

Hello all. I'd like to help all of you by introducing you to P.E.P. Technology. We have more experience driving a Mazak than any other third party software out there. Our CAD converter is state of the art with correction built in automatically, and no one beats out Autonesting for maximum material yeild. Our CPT (crash protection technolgy) allows you to keep the head down for maximum parts yeild.

Hi Guys
You should give some time looking at WiCAM PN4000 software.
If you want a software that will do it all WiCAM can. We offer a full and complete automation solution ( NO PROGRAMMER).
