Hello,
Please forgive my ignorance on this topic. A couple of us have been thrown into the fire a bit and asked to figure out how to run our laser after they let the last guy go.
We currently have a 4kW OPTIPLEX NEXUS 3015 FIBER Mazak Laser. It is probably 5 or 6 years old at this point.
using shop air.
a 1.5mm nozzle.
using the standard Mazak cutting parameters for 1/2" mild steel with 02 gas.
The machine is running full power at 100% duty cycle.
The last time it ran 1/2" the standard cut parameters didn't cut all the way through. I know he then changed cut parameters enough to get it to cut all the way through but then he said it got the lower head so hot it burned up all of his ceramic seals and he had to basically rebuild the head after the one sheet of 1/2".
If anyone has cut parameters that work for them please share! If there is anything we are doing that is wrong please let me know that as well.
