Any opinions on allowing the use of Metal Clad - All Purpose cable in an office building in US? We generally allow regular MC cable, with the green insulated ground wire normally terminated with wire nuts. Electrical contractor wants to use MCAP, which has a #10 aluminum bond wire which is typically cut off at the box connector. This is the recommended termination method and is allowed by NEC. My concern is the integrity of the ground path with everyone having computers at their desk. Years ago we fought to have a ground wire in the conduit and not rely on the EMT connectors/couplings for grounding integrity. Now MCAP seems to be getting away from that. Or am I worried about nothing?
