ME Training for electronics?

I work in an industry where electronic control and monitoring is becoming more and more popular. I even have a patent in the works for a device that uses electronic control of a (normally) hydraulic system. I know enough about electronics to create basic schematics and PCB layouts using simple components (logic gates, transistors, LEDs, etc.) but I would like to learn more. My goal is to obtain enough knowledge to design PCBs that utilize microcontrollers, MOSFETS, and implement circuit protection. What I would like to know is if there is any kind of electronics training course/certification tailored specifically for Mechanical Engineers?

When you start you search, may I suggest that what you should be looking for are courses in what is now referred to as 'Mecatronics':

There doesn't seem to be any new content on that site since 2008.

The Help for this program was created in Windows Help format, which depends on a feature that isn't included in this version of Windows.
 
Gee, I get emails from them on a regular basis (like just today) with links to recent articles, albeit most of them from websites other then their own, but more current, such as from todays missive:
