Does anyone know of any utilities to determine events beyond the 100 year reccurence? Some heavy flooding hit NE Ohio, and I was trying to categorize the event. I was using the Rainfall Frequency Atlas of the Midwest, but this event was way off the charts (9.7" in 16 hours).

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Perfect...thanks blueoak.

Even though its still off these charts, I have an idea as to how far off it really was.

Thanks!

It may interesting to check how it compares to the Probable Maximum Precipitation (PMP) for the area. The other great product the HDSC of the NWS produces are HMR's that show the greatest expected possible rain event. It will show you are much worse it theoretical could be.
