Anyone can tell me or explain the meaning of means cost data book? Is this a book or it is just like a method on a certian cost analysis?

I'm not sure if it is the same, but Means put's out a series of cost estimating books, things like MH's/unit for every conceivable unit of measure and it helps calculate labor & equipment rates.
