Measure Between bug or user error?

I have 3 parts. Parts A,B,C all parts have a space of 10mm apart so the distance between Part A to part B should be,
the distance between Part B to part C should be 10mm and the distance between part A to part C should be 25mm (10mm+partB+10mm). But when I measure the distance between part A to part B I get 0.0mm the distance between B and C = 10mm and the distance from part A to part C I get 25mm.

So my question is why do I get a 0.0mm dim between A and B.
