Hello everyone,

I started working for a small subcontractor who can't afford autocad license and so we use Draftsight free version.

It's typical for me to have to take-off AREA and PERIMETER of a series of closed polylines(say they represent balconies ot terraces)

Since it's time-consuming and tedious work, I wonder if somebody has struggled and has come up with ANY solution to increase the efficiancy of this process.

When I select a few polylines in the AREA value I get "VARIED". If I could get just the sum of the areas, it'd be great. Now I write down the areas and perimeters of all polylines and sum it up in excell and don't like this at all.

Thanks

Type "GETAREA" enter
Type "A" (add) enter
Type "E" (specify Entity) enter
click on your Polylines
Your Command Window shows Area, Perimeter for each entity & Total Area after each pick.

I haven't figured out Total Perimeter yet.

Thanks, I'll try this tomorrow at work
