Hello,
when i got areas of discontinuity in my model, for example, fixing holes. and the mesh is quite dense around the hole, how should i pick the right stress for SF calculation?
it is clear that i have a singularity in that area and the stresses are very high compared with the rest of the model.
i have used to pick the peak stress about 4-5 elements from the sharp edge in order to get a practical stress for SF and not over design my part just because a small area around the hole.
is that method correct? what should i take into considuration in order to pick the stress?
Thanks!
