Dear all,
I would like to know, based on your experience, which is the best seal (configuration) and API Plan for Crude Oil sealing.

The service is desalted Crude Oil at suction conditions = 150ºC and 9.5 kg/cm2 (discharge pressure = 38 kg/cm2), centrifugal pump between bearings (United Pumps DVS type)

Our MTBR, with single seal metal bellows and API Plan 11 is very poor, in fact the seal always leak but depending on the crude oil processed the leakage is greater.

Any thoughts, ideas and recommendations will be very welcomed

Plan 11 will not work as the temperature is above 80degC

A well phrased question has answers in itself!!!

For this temperature Pusher Type seal also will work better.
Since pump condition is not known , I suggest to go for Stationary Pusher Type seal.

Dear Mukesh

How can 53b be employed. First we want to know whether there is presence of H2s more than 200 ppm?
Why not suggest plan 2352.

A well phrased question has answers in itself!!!
