mechanical seal for VS4 pumps

Hi Dear All,

I have two questions.

1- could you please help me to select the suitable "MECHANICAL SEAL" for Vertical VS4 pump for sour crude oil? Some believe that Because in VS4 pumps ,the fluid level in the reservoir is below the Discharge flange; require no mechanical seal. Do you agree?

2- if both VS1 And VS4 handle our application, which one do you select for that? VS1 or VS4?

I suggest as a minimum single dry running mechanical seal. A better option because of the H2S would be a dual non-contacting dry gas seal – provided you have a N2 source nearby.

Plan 32 + 61 would be a better option because of H2s..
