Hi.

Iam running an Implicit Dynamic wind-simulation on a bridge, with geometric stiffness. My timeserie is 6000 sek. But the problem is that the analysis have used all my RAM after aprox 2000 sek in to the timeserie.

My computer has 6 GB RAM.

I have closed Aba CAE, so there is only Aba Standard thats running. And according to my taskmanager Aba Standard is only using 0.4 GB of the memory. No other programs are running. But still my memory is increasing. As my .odb file grows larger during the analysis, the RAM is reduced by approx the same size.

So my question is:
- Are my computer simply not good enough for this sort of analysis?
- Or is there some trick in Abaqus to solve this problem?

Andre

What does the .dat file say?
Looks like this:

PROCESS FLOATING PT MINIMUM MEMORY MEMORY TO
OPERATIONS REQUIRED MINIMIZE I/O
PER ITERATION (MBYTES) (MBYTES)

1 1.50E+12 1725 10728

(note: this was a huge model with TOTAL NUMBER OF VARIABLES IN THE MODEL 1294572)
