I can't find a good explanation for what this stuff, meonite, is. Can anyone go into further detail other than "it is a gray iron". History? Chemistry? Whose trademark/patent?

It is a patented gray iron having Type A graphite in a pearlitic matrix.

I was not sure of the spelling, but "Meehanite" appears to fit my description. Thank you both.
