I have trouble understanding the (location of) meridional streamline and determining the corresponding right area and thus velocities at leading edge.
This is often used to compute the euler head velocities (U2C_2t-U1C_1t).
What I don't understand is the radius at which U1 and C_1t should be taken (so where the streamline should be located). This greatly determines the area (width*2*radius*pi) and thus C_1m and thus the momentum transferred by the impeller blade
I sometimes read that it should be taken at the mean radius (same distance from hub and shroud) and sometimes on a redius where the massflow is equal on both sides of the streamline.
