The attached photo shows a Merlin Gerin - Automatic Changeover Breaker type C250H with an interrupt rating of 50kA at 380/415V a.c.
An integral trip unit is not evident in the photo.
Does anyone know if this device has an integral non-adjustable magnetic only trip unit and if so what is the setting ?
Schneider 'Support' is unable to answer this technical question.

Have you forgotten to attach the photo?

Possibly a moulded case switch, i.e. no tripping function - will have a look once I can see it.

That has more than a passing resemblance to an ATS unit I scrapped about 15 years ago. I am fairly sure that those are both moulded case switches. The Compact range is long obsolete - I might still have a paper catalogue for them at work.

As I recall the leading C indicates it is from the Compact range, 250 is the current rating and H is the intermediate breaking capacity of three variants available. A moulded case switch does have an instantaneous trip capability which is fixed and fairly high - it is primarily intended to prevent the switch coming apart under a sustained fault. From memory the instantaneous trip is about 20x rating on the smaller ones and about 10x on the biggest ones.
