Mesh connectivity

Hello all,

I have a question regarding mesh connectivity in ABAQUS/CAE. I used Hypermesh in my previous job and it shows free edges at every discontinued mesh in the assembly.

Can anybody help me with best option? Thank you for all your time and help.

Imported mesh is called orphan mesh in Abaqus as it doesn’t have any CAD geometry associated with it. To edit such mesh one can use Edit Mesh tools in the Mesh module. Nodes can be merged this way.

Tools -> Query -> Mesh gaps/intersections

Also take a look at the other Query options. Some are focused on geometry, others on the mesh. The options appear depending on what you have in your viewport.
