I am having trouble meshing the following brace. I have tried all sorts of mesh-controls. Any suggestions?

What specifically are the problems? Is it failing to mesh? Do you need finer/coarser controls on certain areas?

There are many mesh controls (it looks like you are using FEM mode, in order to export the mesh to a traditional h-code right?) and they can be used in conjunction with geometric features like surface regions, volume regions, etc in order to break the geometry down into smaller regions. You can put a coarse global mesh size on teh model, but in certain areas (e.g. where you have isolated some loading zones with a surface region) you can put a much finer control, or hard points or whatever.

I think you'll need to provide us more info in order to get help....
