Hi everyone,

I'm doing a simulation that a particle slides on a plane. The particle is a small part of a sphere, and its height is very small compared to the radius of the sphere. So it looks very flat. When I try to make very fine mesh, there are always some regions that can't been meshed, or abaqus says some mesh is not usable. Also, when I use bigger element size, though all regions can be meshed, it always has excessive distortion at the beginning of the simulation, along with the zero or negative mass problem. The adaptive mesh won't help me avoid this since the problem happens at the very beginning. Does anyone have advises how I can solve this problem? Thank you very much!
