Hello,

I am using Solidworks simulation.
How we decide the mesh quality in simulation?

I made a part and applied all boundary condition. After that did mesh of it and run the study.
I received study result. Max von mises stress at particular point was below than yield stress.

I did mesh fine at max stress area. My result goes higher before previous one.

as I do mesh fine and finer, higher stress we get.
So Basically, When I stop to do mesh finer?

And how do i know My design is not in failure state?

I hope you are getting my question.

If the stress keeps significantly increasing even after multiple mesh refinements, you likely encountered stress singularity. In such a case you should include plastic material behavior. You may also have to change boundary conditions or loads to more realistic if this spurious stress concentration occurs in the location of BC/load. It may be also good to add a small fillet if singularity occurs at a corner or sharp edge. In some cases, such singularities can be safely ignored but usually, the previous approaches are sufficient.

In which way, I can show singularities in my report?

I have to give following items in my simulation report.
1. Mesh Sensitivity analysis
2. Global Equilibrium Check
3. FOS.

Can you help me to find out these in simulation?

SolidWorks Simulation now has a tool to asses stress concentrations. Search for "Stress Hot Spot" functionality. I don’t use automatically generated reports but you can add images showing the current state of the stress contour plot, with labels indicating maximum values.
