Meshing issue

just to be clear, it seems this is your problem, an orphan node ...

not sure how it developed, most often avoided by meshed both pieces of the model at the same time. Meshers should be smart enough not to create orphans.

two ways to fix (well three as I think about it) ...

split the lower element, triangulate the orphan and keep the step;
last minute thought is do this and fill the step with a triangle (if you don't want the step).
I would not try to be smart (knowing triangles are not the greatest) and combine these two triangles into a quad (a better element, but it'd have a lousy shape and so not much better).

change the upper element to a triangle, deleting the orphan.
you could mesh refine the upper element.
