Hello All,

I have a question regarding meshing in ABAQUS/CAE. There is existing orphan mesh and need to replace small portion with new geometry.Is there any option to automatically considers the existing divisions from orphan mesh on to the new geometry?

In other words,I want to impose the same divisions from the existing mesh to the new portion geometry with out counting and enter no of divisions?

[FEA way]

Orphan meshes are completly independent of the geometry. They are treated just like a group of connected elements. No information about the meshing technique is retained. You can use Edit Mesh operations on orphan meshes but they are fully manual.
