Mezzanine Deflection Limits 1

Just wanted to get an idea of what deflection limits others are using for storage mezzanines. I typically use L/360 but sometimes allow up to an inch of deflection depending on the application.

I recommend at least L/360 of live load. You never know if the space below the mezzanine will get finished out with a gypboard ceiling in the future. However, ACI 318, Table 9.5(b) also has a limit of L/480 for certain situations. If there are walls framed underneath the mezzanine, then I would limit deflection to 3/4".
