Microstation erasing files from server

Every now and then I get the following error message when I try opening drawing files:

"Microstation PowerDraft has detected a problem and logged it to C:\ProgramFiles\Bentley.....exception.log.

Use Abort to exit Microstation PowerDraft (recommended)

Use Retry to continue using Microstation PowerDraft

Use Ignore to continue using Microstation PowerDraft and supress all future notifications"

When I go to the location it gives in the message, the log file it refers to would not actually exist and the file I was trying to open when the message comes up would be erased from our server.

Has anyone seen anything like this before?

Thanks.

calguy07, what option are you picking Abort, Retry, of Ignore.

I usually pick Ignore then immediately get out of the file using the pull down menu File > Exit.

I cant ever remember having the program delete the file from the server.

What version of PowerDraft and OS are you using?

Hi,

It doesn't matter which option I choose. We're using windows 7 pro and Microstation PowerDraft 2004(v8). I'm also using a really old computer (~6yrs) since the company is too cheap to get me a new one.

Thanks.

calguy07, doesn't look like Windows 7 is certified for that version of PowerDraft and MicroStation.

Operating System
Microsoft Windows® 2000 (SP2 or higher recommended*)
Windows XP Professional
Windows NT® 4 (SP6 recommended*)
Windows 98 (Second Edition recommended)**
Windows Me**
Windows XP Home Edition

Did you have this problem on earlier versions of Windows OS?

Sorry looks like you may need to upgrade software and hardware if you want to stop having files disappear.

Thanks for your help and no, I didn't have this problem before our "upgrade" to the new windows.
