I am interested in finding available material on basic cavity design fundamentals, that deals with resonant frequency, resonant modes, etc. I am most interested in spherical and ellipsoidal cavities and the derivation of equivalent electrical circuits of these devices.

Thanks for you help.

The Handbook of Electron Spin Resonance by Charles P. Jr. Poole has a fair section on cavity design, modes, etc, and might point you in the right direction for further study. It's on google books too, so you can preview it to see how well it fits your needs.

Thanks for your help.

IF you are talking about large cavities (multimode), there is some software available to run with matlab in a book called "Understanding microwave heating cavities" by Tse V. Chow Ting Chan. Have not run it, so do not know how good it is.
