Hi,

New to this forum so hope ive posted in the correct area. i am looking to find out if anyone can confirm whether en1a pb and c20 are interchangeable. c20 is the chinese equivalent of en1a leaded i am told but I am not sure if the specs are the same. I have concerns over the c20 being more ductile / deforming more easily under load.

C20 is a steel which has a carbon content of 0.15/0.2% Carbon equivalent to SAE 1020

EN1A is 0.15% max Carbon. Lead is added for machinabilty.

I don't think C20 can be considered as an equivalent to the leaded version of EN1A

Its strength will depend on the condition it is purchased in but even in a cold drawn form it isn't very strong.

If you buy them in the same condition there shouldn't be much difference but in most conditions C20 will probably be just a little stronger.
