Have made some mild steel oven racks for a retort system oven. Cycles 4hrs at 425 deg. C. Enviornment includes moisture and phospor powder, resulting in producing some phosphoric acid. Do not wish to use stainless, Is there a plating system out there that would likely withstand our conditions?

Not sure that a trace of phosphoric acid (absent a flowing liquid) is corrosive toward mild steel. Might form a passive phosphate coating.

Suggest running some bare & nickel-plated test coupons.
