Is there a minimum sq ft reg for not having to install suppression? like less than 200 sg ft ? I read the bathroom and closet stuff. But what about just another small room ?

depends on what code you are using and what you are trying to apply it to.

is this an apartment, motel/ hotel, house, ????????

An industrial area, a 300 sg ft abbrasive bead blasting room. The walk in room is inside a type 1 suppression protected space. Essentially, a room inside a room.

So is it a room or an enclosure? If it is an enclosure you may be able to get around the requirement because it is a piece of equipment.

And I doubt if any of us know what a Type 1 Suppression Protected Space is.

You need to give us additional information

-- Automatic sprinklers throughout (yes/no)
-- Occupancy
-- Construction type and building area
-- What is the bead blast material?

It is a walk in room (equipment), this room is inside a room that is protected with a suppression system. Automatic sprinkler throughout, industrial occupancy, construction type is steel and concrete, the bead blast media is plastic.

I hope this helps some.

sounds like it needs to be protected and would not meet an exception. basicaly nfpa 13 says sprinkle through out unless you meet an exception.
My take is if you can walk in it sprinkle it. and since the building is sprinkled it should be very simple to sprinkle this room

Is this a room designed to suppress the sound of the blasting???

does it look like this or did some one build a room out of say sheet rock

It is being installed by a manufacture, it looks very similiar to the on on that web site.
Do you knoe the pargaph in NFPA 13 that mentions sprinkler, unless exception ?

basicaly the entire book but specificaly 8.1.1 (1-6) NFPA 13 2002
