Miniature Bearing Load Too High

I have a problem with a ride wheel application. I have a wheel that is 28 mm in diameter and 14 mm in width, It is possible to place two miniature bearings within the wheel but their life span is significatly reduced. The estimated radial load on the wheel is 150 lbs (~667 N) and the wheel will see some side loading under operational pressures of 1500 psi. I have looked at bushings and was told that the applied load was too great using a 7mm axle. Does anyone have suggestions as to what I can use to increase the life span of this part?

I don't know what a ride wheel is, but would suggest that you use a cam follower (possibly crowned) or larger diameter bearing where the outer race is the 28mm wheel.

You might want to post the rpm for this
application. I also wonder if a rubber
coating on the od would help.

Have you looked into needle bearings?

If you do try a needle bearing/cam follower you will need something to take the side load. Maybe a thrust washer would work.

You may be able to replace the wheel with a large deep groove ball bearing with sleeves pressed on the ID and/or OD to fit you application. Maybe start with two 619012 which are each 6mm wide, 22mm OD and 12mm ID.

You may be able to sleeve your shaft up a size for the plane bearing.

There are some companies that make small ball bearing cam followers, I think Rollon is one.

Good Luck
