I have a colleague who has an assembly model and is trying to adjust the value of an assembly relations (forget if planar align or mate but something like that).

For some reason the smallest step it will accept is .010 inch. He's trying to put .001 inch but the part doesn't actually move and if you click off the part then back on the value also goes back to 0.

He is able to do a .011 step so it's not resolution as such.

I noticed the round off in the ribbon bar was at 2 dp but changing it to 3 dp didn't fix the problem.

Played around in file properties\units but again set to 3 dp.

Any ideas?

(We are on an old version of the SW btw)

Not without having access to the model.

Is there a strange conflict with existing relationships?
Has he deleted the component, saved, exited, re-opened, and tried to insert the component again?
Depending on how old of version, look in this folder and run the fix tool. C:\Program Files\Solid Edge XXX\Custom\AsmRelDoctor
Are all the components actual solid models? For example, weird unexplainable things happen with imported geometry that looks like a water tight solid but is actually only construction bodies (due to inverted or hourglass surfaces, usually).

We suppressed the relationship acting weird and re did it but still acted weird.

We then looked at another part in the same assy and had similar issue of note being able to actually get it to move less than .010.

Yes the parts we were looking at are solid models - not sure if he has anything else going on elsewhere in the file.

Found "ARelDoctor" which from the readme looks like the same thing - thanks Swertel.
