minimum distance between 2 pile caps

What is minimum distance between 2 pile caps? My drawing show both pile caps touch each other. Shall I put polyfoam between pile caps?

Depends? Pouring that's annoying because you basically have to do two separate pours to make them independent. Form one, let it cure, strip the forms, put the foam down, pour the second. You need at least a little offset to fit some formwork between them to do it at the same time.

Does making them independent actually matter? Can you combine them? Are they really independent even if you've poured them independently, those piles are really close together?

If you feel that it is desirable to keep the caps independent then:

1) I know of know code / standard required gap.

2) I do like the foam as a way to keep the caps from pounding into one another.

Thanks for reply. Will use Pecaform to cast both pile caps. May I know the requirement for the gap between 2 pile caps? It that appropriate if we cast 2 pile caps close to each other?

The gap between the pile caps is not an issue. But it looks like the piles from one cap are too close to the piles from the other cap. Typically you need to maintain a center to center pile spacing of at least 2.5 times the pile diameter.
