Where can I find a specification in te AISC or any book where specified the minimum edge distance from the center of hole in a base plate column to the edge of this base plate, I know in the table j3.4 of the manual say the minimum edge distance from the center o standard hole to edge of connected part but i´m not sure, it apply in the same way to the base plates or only in connection between beam column or bracese etc.

In the Canadian CSA S-16, Table 6 "Minimum Edge Distance for Bolt Holes" provides values for various size bolts. The required edge distance is greater for a sheared edge than for rolled, sawn or gas-cut edges.

For a 3/4" bolt, the value is 32mm for a sheared edge and 25mm for a rolled, sawn or gas-cut edge.

It had better be table J3.4 of the AISC otherwise I may be in trouble.

I believe if you look into some of the connection tables contained in the books and you will see they use the values in table J3.4

this sentences is from AISC Steel Design guid 1 " Base Plate and Anchor Rod Design":
Anchor rod layouts should provide ample clearance distance for the washer from the column shaft and its weld, as well as a reasonable edge distance. When the hole edge is not subject to a lateral force, even an edge distance that provides a clear dimension as small as 2 in. of material from the edge of the hole to the edge of the plate will normally suffice, although field issues with anchor rod placement may necessitate a larger dimension to allow some slotting of the base plate holes. When the hole edge is subject to a lateral force, the edge distance provided must be large enough for the necessary force transfer.[/b]
