I am not clear if there is a minimum weld size requirement on the inside of a nozzle which is welded as a full penetration weld to a cylindrical shell. The configuration is as per Fig. UW-16.1(e) of ASME Sec. VIII Div.1 but has an internal projection of say 2". There is no repad required as the reinforcement area meets the code requirements (self reinforced). My question is, if "tc" as indicated in Fig. UW-16.1(h) is applicable to Fig. UW-16.1(e) with an internal projection. Some software programs like APV shows a minimum requirement (tc), someothers don't. Appreciate any insights into this issue.
