minimum pipe distance

We have a 36" dia. pipe (wt= 1&quotand have two outlets- 24" pipe(wt=0.5&quotacross from each other coming out of the 36" pipe.
We need to install another 20" pipe(wt=0.5&quot outlet on the 36" pipe.
According to ASME code 31.3 what is the minimum distance required between the pipes 24" and 20"?
As per basic calcs. there is no reinforcement required for the two 24" outlets.

B31 does not really have a requirement for spacing branches (other than some guidance on overlapping repad areas) but perhaps you should look at Pipe Fabrication Insttute document:
