Hello!

To calculate the minimum size of attachment welds for nozzles and flange to nozzle neck welds (UW-16 and UW-21, respectively), is "tn" defined as the nominal thickness of nozzle wall minus corrosion allowance minus 12.5%tn of mill tolerance (when pipe is used)?

Thank you!

Checking my notes going back to 1980's, Tn does not include corossion allowance.

As defined in UW-16, t[sub]n[/sub] is the nominal thickness of nozzle wall: this indicates the thickness that's specified in the drawings.

What fun! If you use pipe,UW-16 sends you to UG-45 and footnotes. Then to UG-25 and UG-8. Remember all must be addressed.
