Hi all,

I am new for Gasket type plate and Frame Heat Exchanger. Regarding the minimum wall shear stress, I have one issue with my vendor. As per my client specification, my Vendor need to achieve the wall shear stress as minimum of 75Pa within the allowable pressure drop of 0.6bar. Now, my Vendor says that we can not achieve the shear stress requirement due to the limited pressure drop value and the higher design margin on surface area.(We ask Vendor to consider 25% of surface margin on each plate).

Could any one please explain the interrelation between the Velocities, Pressure drop and surface design margin to the wall shear stress?
