Hi there,

I have checked AS3600 but still not sure about what the minimum width of closed fitment in a beam can be.
AS3600 specifies internal diameter of the bend of D500N bar is 4db.
So should the min width be 2*bar size + 2db + 2db?
does it require a straight section between the bend?
Thanks

Check out Infrabuild's product guide for reinforcing, has all the typical minimum widths for reinforcing bar, look at page 39 for reference. The dimensions given are subject to both a) the as3600 requirements for bends as well as b) any minimums imposed by the physical limitations of processing equipment.

For a closed fitment I'd say you need that straight section, otherwise the two corner bars are really both sitting in one big curved U shape.

Thanks for the info.
