Is there a was to make a reference (dependent) mirror of a generic part and have all the instances also make mirror parts? I would like to use the original generic and it's instances in an assembly family table as well as use the mirrored parts and be able to replace them in the same family table assemblies. So, they need to be family table mirror parts for the family table replacements to work.(I know how to mirror a part using the dummy assembly method, as discussed in thread554-42758).

Want you want may be possible with copy geom functionality but In my opinion you could do this in a roundabout way with your current part.

If you create a copy surface feature and pick solid geom you will get a closed surface which can be made into a solid from surf. Do a surface transform mirror and create a solid from this then remove the original solid.

Then in your family table you can add the features to be shown in the mirror parts.

Someone else may have a better option.

Let me know what you think
