Missing Lines in Drawings

I am currently using Unigraphics NX3 and am having difficulty with missing lines in views of my drawings. Occasionally when I put a view in it is missing lines that should be there to show an edge. I have tried messing around with the view settings (extracted edges, UV Grid, Virtual Intersections, etc.), but have been unsuccessful in fixing it. Is there something that I am missing to fix this?

Is this a drawing of an individual part or an assembly? I ask because sometimes when parts interfere in an assembly, drawing views may not show lines/edges that you think should be there. There is a setting called 'interfering solids' (at least that is what it is called in NX2) to account for this.

Also try adjusting the view tolerance. If your part has lots of detail with short edges, lowering the tolerance may help. Sometimes increasing the tolerance also helps - for reasons that I can't explain.

This is an assembly. The complexity could be a problem your right. But I have seen this on less complex part. The type of part that it is happening to is a sheetmetal part with a couple bends in it, in the shape of a handle.

Coincident (or interfering, as cowski notes) surfaces often cause this problem. On the NX2 (and maybe 3) initial screen it shows a shaded iso of an assembly which has this problem, where the treaded rod goes into the hole.

Try this next time it happens.
Right click on the view and select style.
In the general tab edit the tolerance value to tighten the tolerance (reduce the number)
For example if its set to 0.1 change it to 0.01.

It's a while since I tried it so if this doesn't work just double check by making the tolerance value larger as well.
