ASTM B31.3 ON PARA.- 304.2.4 .- THE WALL THGICKNESS OF CURVED AND MITERED SEGMENTS OF PIPE SUBJECTED TO EXTERNAL PRESSURE MAY BE DETERMINED IN PARA.- 304.1.3

THE QUESTION IS ON A MITERED ELBOW WE CAN USE L THE DISTANCE OF EACH MITER SECTION ????

IF THE l IS OK TO HAVE THE PRESSURE REQUERIDDED WE NEED TO REVIEW THIS UNION WITH REINFORZEMENTS ??

Hi Prex

Do you mean that L is the distance on center line of each of the miter or is the distance of the center of the elbow to each of the termination.

thanks

No, I mean that you must consider the elbow as if it was straightened, becoming a straight pipe.
In other words: take the full center line length of your elbow and treat it as a straight piece of pipe.
