Is there a simple formulae for calculating the torque required to turn a paddle D diameter, W wide, through a sludge of D1 density at N rpm? - thank you

Mike,
I would suggest a waste water treatment design
catalogue or book should have this info. I an
certain that they have similar paddles or mixer
blades used in treating sludge etc.
