Mixing steam flows 1

I have two steam streams which I have to mix together:

Properties of these streams
1: 480 °F, pressure 145 psi
2: 630 °F, pressure 435 psi

I'm not familiar with steam mixing systems/equipment. What is the best way to mix those streams? Could you tell me some sources (books, websites) from where I can get information?

Is there a resulting back pressure of interest ?

Yes there is. It should be about 175 psi. The resulting temperature can be anything. The flow rates of the streams are almost equal.

Apparently a thermocompressing ejector would bring up the LP steam to the MP level with a motive HP steam mass ratio to LP steam of less than 1:1. If you prefer to use the whole mass of HP steam, then you simply add the rest thru a reducing valve into the MP line.

Look for a graph in Perry VI or Perry VII in the section of compressors to estimate the amount of motive HP steam needed to do the job. Use absolute, not gage pressures, in your calculations.
